Valenci Bridal Website Case Study

The Challenge

Sana Zinga, a Preston-based fashion designer specialising in modest bridal wear and couture, needed a digital presence that matched the elegance of her work. Her existing setup wasn't cutting it — she needed a proper showcase for her collections, a way to manage content herself, and a site that felt as premium as the dresses she creates.

The brief was clear: editorial elegance, not generic fashion templates.

The Approach

We built the site using Astro — a modern framework that delivers exceptional performance out of the box. For content management, we integrated Contentful, giving Sana full control over her collections, imagery, and page content without touching code.

Key decisions:

Contentful CMS — Structured content model for categories, collections, and individual pieces
Optimised imagery — Contentful's image API handles automatic WebP conversion, responsive sizing, and quality optimisation
Minimal JavaScript — Astro's islands architecture means only essential interactivity ships to the browser
Editorial layout — Large imagery, generous whitespace, refined typography

Design Philosophy

The visual language draws from high-end fashion editorials. We used:

Cormorant Garamond for display text — timeless serif elegance
Warm neutrals — cream backgrounds, champagne accents, charcoal text
Full-bleed imagery — letting the garments speak for themselves
Subtle animations — fade-ins and reveals that feel luxurious, not gimmicky

Every design choice reinforces the brand positioning: bespoke, premium, Lancashire-made.

Technical Implementation

The site architecture prioritises performance and maintainability:

- Astro 4 with static site generation
- Contentful as headless CMS
- Automatic image optimisation via Contentful API
- Deployed on Vercel with edge caching
- Perfect Lighthouse scores across the board

Content editors see a clean, intuitive interface in Contentful. New collections can be added in minutes, and images are automatically optimised for web delivery.

The Result

Valenci now has a website that genuinely represents the quality of the brand. The site loads fast, looks stunning on every device, and Sana can update it herself whenever new pieces are ready.
